Some manufacturers I.E BMW & Jaguar Land rover chose extended service intervals of nearly 20,000 miles, or 2 years, this has proved time and again to be a big big mistake!
BMWs we’re suffering hundreds of thousands of timing chain failures, Jaguar- land rovers with their 2.0 ingenium diesel engines are the same.
A proper service schedule for your vehicle is imperative to the longevity and smooth running of its engine & gearbox.
A combination of extended service intervals & emissions equipment installed causes a high build up of soot In the engine, & oil fuel dilution causes the oil to sludge prematurely, the low viscosity of the oil means this sooting & sludging process means the oil looses it’s ability to perform to it’s full requirements.
As sludge builds up in the engine, vital components get starved of oil, I.E timing chain tensioner, & turbocharger.
Starting at over £1500 for a full Jaguar or £1700 for a Land rover 2.0 ingenium engine timing chain replacement, or worse for a total engine failure, we recommend & use B.G products at least during your annual service, and reduce the service interval to every 12 months or 12000 miles maximum.
Without an oil flush, a service only puts clean oil in a dirty engine, & instantly contaminates the fresh oil you pay for.
We use BG109 oil flush with every service!
And recommend BG diesel oil conditioner as an after treatment, along with a BG245 diesel fuel treatment added to a full tank of fuel to clean and maintain your fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump & injectors to help with the smooth running & reduce soot build u
