Enhance performance, extend engine life, and reduce vibration.
At JS Auto Tuning, we provide expert engine balancing services focused on precision and performance.
Whether you’re building a race engine, or a daily driver, our expert team and state of the art equipment ensure your components are perfectly balanced for optimal results.
Engine balancing, especially dynamically balancing the rotating assembly is a critical step in engine building that ensures all rotating and reciprocating components work in perfect harmony.
Dynamic crank balancing is the process of precisely adjusting the weight distribution of a crankshaft assembly to reduce vibration and ensure smooth efficient operation.
Unlike simpler static balancing, which only corrects for imbalances in a single plane, dynamic balancing corrects for imbalances in two or more planes.
Static vs. dynamic balancing
The key difference between the two balancing methods is how the object is evaluated:
- Static balancing is done when the crankshaft is stationary. An object is statically balanced if its center of gravity aligns with its axis of rotation. The process is sufficient for narrow or disc-shaped parts.
- Dynamic balancing involves spinning the part at high speeds to detect imbalances that occur during rotation. A crankshaft may be statically balanced but still have dynamic imbalance, which causes a “wobbling” or “rocking” motion at high speeds. Dynamic balancing is necessary for longer or more complex rotating assemblies.
What we offer
We provide a full suite of in-house balancing services using industry-leading tools and techniques:
Dynamic Crankshaft Balancing
Using our state-of-the-art Turner Balancer, we precisely measure and correct imbalance in your crankshaft to ensure smooth rotation at all RPM ranges. This is essential for both stock and high-performance engines.
Conrod End-to-End Balancing
We balance connecting rods from end to end to equalise mass across all cylinders. This reduces internal stress, vibrations and improves consistency across combustion cycles.
Piston Balancing and Rocker Assembly Matching
Pistons are match weighed and adjusted to exact tolerances to eliminate variations that could affect engine dynamics. Rocker assemblies are also matched in weight to maintain uniform valve operation and reduce mechanical noise.
Who is it for?
Our services are available for all makes and models, including:
- Classic cars
- Modern performance vehicles
- Off-road vehicles
- Racing engines
- Custom builds
Whether you’re an enthusiast, a professional engine builder, or a garage owner, we can support your engine balancing needs with speed, accuracy, and unmatched attention to detail.
